How it works

The Process :

every two weeks. a new funding cycle begins. I pick a new Muse to move me- either a charity or an individual with demonstrated need (medical, disaster, etc)- and I start walking. the total miles walked over the two week cycle, is multiplied by the per mile pledge amount to find the total funds raised for that cycle. I calculate 60% of that total, and get it to the muse that moved me.

What To Know About Pledging :

You do not need to pledge at the beginning of a funding cycle. I will note when you pledge and calculate your contribution from that date through the end of the cycle. If you like, you can indicate to me that you'd like to back date your pledge to cover the entire cycle.

You can make an open ended pledge, pledge for a single cycle, or for a specific period of time / number of cycles.

Pledges are per mile, and can be made for any dollar amount above $0.25 / mile. Pledges are non binding- meaning, when I reach out at the end of a cycle with the latest obligation, you are not legally bound to send me anything. If You have pledged it, but are unable to pay (for whatever reason) that is okay. No need to explain yourself. Life happens. Just let me know and we'll work it out.

I can recieve payment through the following platforms:

Paypal

Cash App

Venmo

Zelle

(If none of these options are viable for you, please reach out here and we will work something out)

While I cannot tell you exactly how many miles I will Walk in any given funding cycle- so how much you may be asked to contribute when the cycle ends- you can expect an average milage somewhere between 50 and 100.

I appreciate your support, and am so grateful to be doing this deeply menaingful- if a bit out of the ordinary- work.

Who Gets Grants :

I am presently walking for charities- public facing non-profit organizations with a variety of missions and strategies- but I intend to become a reliable source of serendipitous funds for individuals who are in demonstrable need, folk burdened by any number of pressing obligations that could make good use of the funds I hope to offer.

If you or someone you know are genuinely struggling with something like an unexpected medical bill or other systemic debt, please reach out at walkingcharitycase@gmail.com and let me know what's going on. I can't promise anything, but I definetly want to hear about your situation. If you'd like to reccomend a charity, please do.
